Hear the eulogy here. I first met Carl shortly after I was born. He saw me and chose my name. And then we were four, our little family, Doreen, Charlie, Carl and Andrew. He did OK, it’s a fair enough name, although he and my Dad often shortened it to ‘Drew’. In hindsight though, given his future love and obsession with Black Metal, I was lucky I was not named ‘AZMORGOTH THE DEMENTOR’. Which would have raised a few eyebrows at the registry office at Burnley General Hospital. Or maybe not. Given our proximity to Pendle and the rumors of witchcraft associated with the area or the local Hellmouth… otherwise known as Padiham.
I only saw this obituary by chance as I was looking Carl up to book a therapy appointment. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I was a client of his a few years ago and he was a wonderful therapist. He helped me out of a very bad place and helped me to cope when I was in despair. He had the ability to really listen to the root of the problem and offer just the right advice and guidance. He had me crying with laughter too, he had a great sense of humour. A truly lovely, warm and talented person. I pass my condolences to you and your family. I'll be forever grateful for the help he gave me.
I'm so sorry to learn of the sad passing of Carl. He was an absolutely amazing therapist. He counciled my son for about a year and brought him so far. I will always be so thankful to Carl for all his help and support. A truly lovely man. Always in my thoughts and prayers x
